<blockquote><p>The association will be collecting teddy bears to support Arlington Memorial Hospital&#8217;s Teddy Bear Clinic program, which serves local kindergarten classes. Round up new or gently loved stuffed bears and bring them to the May or June general meetings.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Remember! All Entries Need an ENTRY MARSHAL!</strong></p>
<blockquote><p>What does an entry marshal do anyway?</p>
<p>ENTRY MARSHAL DUTIES ARE:</p>
<ol>
<li>Know parade rules for your entry and ensure compliance. You may download a copy of the rules from our website, www.arlington4th.org.</li>
<li>Be available to parade officials for relaying information to your entry in the assembly area and along the parade route.</li>
<li>Make sure that entry number is properly placed on your entry.</li>
<li>Keep your entry together and organized in the lineup area.</li>
<li>Accompany your entry during the parade.</li>
<li>Control entry speed on the parade route to maintain interval between your entry and units before and after.Maintain about a 20 – 30 foot interval with the next entry. If a gap develops close it up.</li>
<li>Ensure the safety of your entry and entry participants. Be safe!</li>

<blockquote><p>Show your patriotic pride. Nothing says you love America more than being a part of Arlington&#8217;s 4th of July parade. Believed to be the largest parade in North Texas, the impressive procession perennially includes all sorts of amazing entries. And the deadline for getting your spot in the lineup is coming up on May 1.</p>
<p>According to the parade website, those registering an entry between May 2 and June 1 (the absolute deadline) will have to pay a $25 late entry charge.</p>
<p>Maybe this is the year your business, church, neighborhood or scout group, civic or charitable cause or hobby should be represented in the parade. Make a lasting memory by joining the lineup of bands, cars, bikes, floats, twirlers, cheerleaders, dancers, walkers, horses and many other wonderful participants that thrill the more than 30,000 spectators each year.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The 2012 Application has been posted online as well as a new &#8220;Information for Announcers&#8221; form that replaces the publicity information form. We&#8217;ve updated this to reflect the information we need to write a proper script that complies with the rules with out requiring a back and forth to make sure it fits.</p>
<p>We were also planning on having PayPal setup to accept the entry fees but unfortunately did not get it setup in time. Look for it next year along with a more streamlined application/publicity process and a few other nice things to make the parade even better!!!</p>
<p>Get the applications flowing and we look forward to seeing you this year in the 2012 Arlington 4th Of July Parade!</p>
