The 46th Annual Arlington 4th Of July Parade has come to a close and it was a blast and we enjoyed it immensely! We are already seeing news stories going up about the parade and will link below to those as we find them.  Look in the coming weeks as we post the pictures and videos we get into the 2011 Gallery (which will be linked to shortly).

We are going to handle some final cleanup here over the next few weeks then get started planning the 47th!! Keep checking back regularly as we move forward. Some of us are already hard at work for next year to give you even MORE options to participate and enjoy the parade. Until next time, Happy 4th Of July America!!!

And on a personal note, my daughter loved it as it was her first time and can’t wait till next year.

Parade Day Parking/Traffic Information

Posted on | July 1, 2011 | Comments Off

Information from Tiara Richard of the Arlington Police Department sent us this press release to re-post.

The 46th annual Independence Day Parade will occur Monday, July 4, 2011, starting at 9 a.m. The parade route will be closed to all other traffic by 7:30 a.m.

Due to ongoing construction in the area, parade attendees are encouraged to arrive early and be on the lookout for displayed signs alerting drivers that private businesses and apartments will tow illegally parked vehicles.  Traffic approaching the University of Texas at Arlington on Cooper Street will be directed east at Cooper Street and Nedderman Drive to access multiple parking lots in the area.

The parade will begin at West and Mitchell streets before turning north onto Pecan Street. From there it will go west on UTA Boulevard and then north on West Street and east onto Abram Street. The route will turn south at Center Street, west on Mitchell Street to Pecan Street and conclude near Doug Russell Road.  Construction continues along Pecan Street and there will be limited room for spectators to view the parade along this road.

For more information on the parade and to view a map, go to http://arlington4th.org.
